In addition to providing Radio Frequency Shielding, it is often necessary to contain the Magnetic Gauss field with Magnetic Shielding. USC will manufacture and install magnetic shielding in accordance with the design from the MRI vendor. In cases where the design is not provided by the MRI vendor or when the magnet is purchased from a third party, USC has the engineering expertise to design the Magnetic Shielding using sophisticated software design tools. This is the same software that is used by the MRI vendors.

The magnetic shielding consists of M-36 silicon steel which can be attached to the parent room walls, ceiling, and floor. All of the magnetic shielding in customized for the site specific conditions in our facility.
